Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associates/bachelor’s degree (Education Requirements dependent on state)
  • Typically requires a valid teaching/substitute license or willingness to obtain a substitute license
  • Skilled in oral and written communication
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Responsibilities

  • Manage a classroom by keeping students on task and handling behavioral issues
  • Teach students curriculum and supplement the lesson planning
  • Participate in school-sponsored professional development and parent-teacher conferences as needed
  • Ensure the safety of students during classroom hours
  • Complete any other duties requested by the school

  • Work in the same classroom daily & follow through with commitments/assignments

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (Education Requirements dependent on state)

Permanent Substitute Teacher

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage a classroom by keeping students engaged and on task
  • Follow lesson plans and assume all duties and responsibilities of the teacher
  • Ensure students’ safety during classroom hours and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Leave feedback/notes for the teacher

Expectations

  • Work daily substitute assignments
  • Must be open to working in different classrooms each day
  • Participate in 30-day trial period prior to permanent hire
  • Complete scheduled assignments and be flexible when asked to complete additional duties
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude and demeanor
  • Demonstrate an appreciation for diversity

Skills & Qualifications

Paraprofessional Substitute

Responsibilities

  • Assist teacher with tasks and any duties requested by the school
  • Work with students in small groups and one-on-one
  • Assist any special education students as requested
  • Supervise recess, lunch, study hall, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provide food service preparation to students and other kitchen-related duties, according to school’s instruction
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment, and follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Provide a positive dining experience for students/faculty
  • Assist in money & meal accountability

  • Available on-call for daily, weekly and long-term job opportunities

  • Specify non-workdays through the automated system when not available to work

Responsibilities

  • Follow all cleaning and sanitation rules/procedures
  • Assist in cleaning, maintenance, and other custodial services to school grounds
  • Maintain proper care and safety of all chemicals/equipment

  • Available on-call to accept daily, weekly, and long-term opportunities
  • Schedule non-workdays through the automated system when unavailable to work
  • Follow sign in/sign out procedure, as required by school
